Le Sauze - Sauze 1700 is a small resort that has grown up around an existing Alpine village.
Several waymarked walks start from the resort centre which houses restaurants, bars and shops.
Le Sauze - Sauze 1700 is situated about four kilometres from Barcelonnette.
Perched on the mountainside below the magnificent peaks of the « Chapeau de Gendarme » and the « Pain du Sucre », Le Sauze - Sauze 1700 is a perfect base for all kinds of outdoor activities.
The resort centre is surrounded by alpine meadows which in late spring and early summer are covered in flowers.
There are a large number of hikes that start in, or close to, Le Sauze - Sauze 1700 and families with children will find plenty of other entertainment.
