The luxuriance and profusion of the vegetation of this deep valley have earned it the nickname of Little Amazon of the Pyrenees. The moisture-saturated air, which is trapped there, deposits its water on the steep slopes. The valley, wide at the bottom, then narrows towards the Arros Oueil, a source of resurgence when it rains on the opposite slope, on the Campan side. This protected and humid mountain valley is home to a great abundance of mosses cascading down from trees and centuries-old boxwoods.
