Who is this education fair for?
It's for everyone involved in education, in the broadest sense. Teachers, of course, but I'm seeing an increasingly diverse audience at the CDDP: educators, activity leaders from recreation centers, and parents. So I wanted to open up this education fair, which until now has been primarily for primary school teachers, to all these groups. Teachers and activity leaders will be able to come with the young people who are the main focus of this education fair. We're expecting 180 middle school students in the morning, and recreation centers have already contacted us for the afternoon.
What will you find there?
The fair is organized around several areas to ensure that different audiences can find something of interest: educational publishers presenting textbooks to teachers, a computer area with equipment demonstrations, an education for sustainable development area featuring five organizations from the Pyrénées Vivantes network, a science area focused on astronomy, and an area for organizations working with schools, such as the youth programs of the General Council and the Federation of Secular Organizations. There will also be a program of talks, including one by Jean-Michel Zakhartchoux, editor of the Cahiers Pédagogiques, and another by José Cubéro on the history of our schools.
And for young people?
We have plenty for young people: a children's literature area with readings throughout the day, and a stand from the departmental library presenting the "Hautes-Pyrénées tout en auteurs" prize. Christian Grenier, a master of children's crime fiction, will be there to share some writing secrets. There will also be workshops like "Babillage – habillage" (Babling – Dressing), which allows young people to create an art book. For the full program, visit the CCDP Hautes-Pyrénées website!
