Following a stopover in Cauterets disrupted by gray and chilly weather, the Hautes-Pyrénées audience gathered on Sunday under sunny skies and in a summer festival atmosphere at the stunning setting of the former thermal baths in the Vallon de Salut. This Bagnères leg of the Visa pour la nuit du Parvis festival opened with the polyphony of the four voices of La Main Harmonique, inviting us on a musical journey. Not a journey to a distant land, but rather a journey through time, with a repertoire drawing on vocal compositions from Renaissance France, accompanied by a beautifully interpreted language, a well-balanced bouquet of voices, the key to polyphonic singing. The atmosphere shifted for the second part of this two-part Visa pour la nuit, featuring Chloé Moglia, whom we saw a few weeks ago in Aléas, suspended above the audience at the Parvis. Facing the former thermal baths of the Vallon de Salut, a metal structure and a suspended rope were on display. Chloé Moglia needs nothing more to transport us on a motionless journey. She climbs the rope, suspends herself from the structure above the ground, and casts off for a slow, deliberate voyage. The show begins, one that will successively astonish with its premise, impress with its performance and duration, unsettle with the risk of this suspension six meters above the ground without any safety equipment, question the possibilities of this situation, and ultimately offer a unique perspective on this unusual suspended circus performer and the setting of these ancient thermal baths surrounded by the greenery of the Vallon de Salut. A beautiful invitation to follow the next stages of Visa for the night which takes us on Saturday to the Abbey of Escaladieu and on Sunday to that of Saint-Sever de Rustan in the company of the Bird Singers, an amazing duo which started with imitation competitions to arrive at a promenade which promises to make voices resonate with the nature of the Hautes-Pyrénées before a screening of The Bird Walker on a large screen in the open air.
