Musique en Hautes-Pyrénées : Fabien Duscombs
Fabien Duscombs, drummer and percussionist, is a self-taught musician emblematic of the Toulouse improvised music scene. In 1996, he founded the CUF (Complot Ultra Frêle), a Toulouse collective of "musicians strongly concerned with the channeling and development of their creativity", now dissolved. Attached to collective play, he gives a lot of importance to group projects. He is very involved in Freddy Morezon, notably as a member of Cannibales & Vahinés, le Tigre des Platanes, Singe de l'Encre, Fish From Hell and Bedmakers. He participated and still participates in many musical projects such as Whahay, The end, Farm Job, Kazanchis trio, the Tobrogoï, Le Grand Écart du Singe, Rosa Luxemburg New Quintet, and has played with musicians such as Noël Akchoté, Denis Badault , François Merville, Médéric Collignon, John Tchicai, Paul Rogers, Heddy Boubaker, Sebastien Cirotteau, Mathieu Werchowski, Christine Wodrascka, Olivier Sens, Eugene Chadbourne, G.W. Sok or Akosh S.… He also works with Ethiopian artists such as the singer Eténèsh Wassié, the krar player Mesele Asmamaw. Today, he also plays with Sylvain Kassap and Julien Touéry in the Kassap-Touéry-Duscombs trio, as well as in a duo with guitarist Hasse Poulsen.
