Vignemale
The Vignemale is the highest peak in the French Pyrenees with its 3298 meters. On the edge of the Pyrenees National Park, and the Reserva de la Biosfera Ordesa-Viñamala, it is accessible from Gavarnie, Cauterets or Torla. Part of the access route on the French side takes the GR 10. The easiest and most obvious access route crosses a large part of the Ossoue glacier (or Baysselance glacier), from the Bellevue caves on the GR 10 to the base of the Pique Longue, where you must then finish the ascent with a little easy climbing. The Vignemale is one of the mythical peaks of the Pyrenees. In Aragonese it is called Pico de Comachibosa and in Spanish Pico Viñamala.
