La Gespe, scène de musiques actuelles (Tarbes)
The cultural center of Gespe (current music scene) is developing actions in favor of the promotion and distribution of current music. Since September 2003, the Gespe Cultural Center has been part of the "Tarbes en Scène" Cultural Pole with the Théâtre des Nouvelles, and the Pari.
Programming of local artists, discovery shows as well as recognized groups (Yuri Buenaventura, Ska-P, Leny Escudero, Rita Mitsouko, Cheb Mami, Nada Surf, etc ...)
Guitar and MAO (Computer Assisted Music) lessons
In addition, the structure provides amateur groups in the department:
rehearsal rooms
a mini recording studio
resource persons, in order to help carry out their projects (technical recording of rehearsals, simulation exercises, preparation of promotional materials)
The Salle de la Gespe is a municipal structure whose artistic management has been entrusted to the association Gespe Animation Spectacle (GAS). La Gespe is intended to be an intermediate room between musical bars and large broadcasting rooms. Its seating capacity is 800 and 930 for standing, and the capacity of the three boxes available to groups is 30 people. It is currently the only place of regular distribution of current music in the Hautes-Pyrénées.
