Théâtre des Nouveautés (Tarbes)
Very pretty Italian theater built for the beautiful eyes of Jean-Marie Laborde tenor dramatic artist. It was inaugurated on February 4, 1886, with a performance of La Périchole, opéra-bouffe by Jacques Offenbach. But after only 5 months the court issues a bankruptcy judgment. Cani Eldorado in 1912, then Cinéma Impérial in 1929 with La Maison des Œuvres Catholiques' programming of “righteous and moralizing” films which did not meet with success. Then porn cinema in the late 60s until it closed in 1980.
It regains its function of Theater when the City of Tarbes buys it and renovates it to come in 1983 Municipal Theater of Tarbes. Renovations again in 2011 to give it back its gold and make it a real candy box in the heart of the city of Tarbes.
