Théatre en Hautes-Pyrénées : Théâtre Fébus
Created in 1996, the Théâtre Fébus, a professional company located in the Hautes-Pyrénées, defends a popular theater, accessible to all through the exploration of classical works, great myths or historical facts. A work, an author, a character, a myth. Nothing leaves you indifferent as long as man and all his humanity are at the heart of the work.
The company, initially a privileged partner of the Petit Théâtre de la Gare d'Argelès-Gazost, now has more than 40 shows to its credit: Jacques le fataliste, Ma guerre en Espagne, Cyrano à tout prix or more recently Les Bêtes Sauvages have been played for school audiences, while Prévert, Piaf ma Frangine, Toréadors… addressed the general public
It is through the organization of the Gavarnie Festival, which was entrusted to it from 2007 to 2019, the artistic creations in the high mountains, at an altitude of 1450m, at the foot of the Cirque de Gavarnie, a site listed as a World Heritage Site by Unesco in the Pyrénées Mont Perdu property. 13 outdoor performances during the summer period that can accommodate up to 2,000 people each evening. In 2021, the Festival de Gavarnie association will take over the organization of shows in Gavarnie.
The Fébus Theater association is now subsidized by the Department of Hautes-Pyrénées, the Regional Council of Occitanie.
