Is this first album a culmination or a starting point for the Chtarbés?
It's both. We made the album with Nicolas on guitar, just before he left for Mayotte. All these songs were composed and matured over the years since the band's formation. So it's influenced by Nicolas, but also by you, who was the band's bassist for a long time! And at the same time, this "completely Chtarbés" moment will also allow us to make ourselves known, to introduce ourselves, and to continue this wonderful musical adventure!
How is the band evolving with the departure of the "historical" guitarist?
There's Gaetano, the new guitarist who replaced Nicolas. We've been rehearsing together quite a bit over the past three months so he can get to grips with the band's repertoire, the compositions, and the covers. And since he's quite good, things are going well! Friday will be our first concert with him.
What are the band's plans?
First, to have fun! And we're using the CD to showcase what the Chartbés do. We performed one for Pierrot Domengès of La Gespe, for example. We already have concerts lined up, like at the Janis on June 5th, at the Lourdes bikers' pilgrimage on June 20th, and for the Fête de la Musique in Tarbes.
What are you going to do for us on Friday at the Bar Juillanais?
We're playing our first concert since the album's release on Friday. It's also the first concert with Gaetano. There will be a first set of our own compositions to showcase the album's tracks live. And a second set of covers. It's going to be a great evening where we'll have fun, or we want to please the audience who comes to see us.
