Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine gave us a superb concert on Friday night. On stage at Le Parvis, we found everything we love about this lone figure of the French rock scene. A rock atmosphere prevailed with tracks from his latest album, *Stratégie de l'inespoir*, released just over a year ago, while a more chanson-like feel was created with songs he performed solo on acoustic guitar. And the energy level rose a notch with *Lorelei sebasto cha*, more rock than ever. An alternation of older and more recent tracks took us on a journey through his world, including some essential songs like *Alligators 427*, which Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine revealed he composed after protesting against the Fessenheim nuclear power plant, and of course, *La Fille du coupeur de joints*. All of this was delivered with genuine sincerity and accompanied by a band that accentuated the rock edge of Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine's repertoire. We think of the excellent guitarist Alice Botté, who has already distinguished herself playing with Alain Bashung and Jacques Higelin. And of the other guitarist, Lucas Thiéfaine, Hubert-Félix's son, who is already carrying on the family legacy. This is almost a concert in a seated venue. But thanks to the excellent acoustics of concerts at Le Parvis, we were able to fully appreciate the lyrics that define Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine's career. An intensely engaging concert that brought the audience to its feet by the end.
