Baqueira Beret is one of the largest winter sports centers in the Pyrenees and Catalonia, the ski area covers 2,273 hectares. It is located in the upstream valley of the Garonne, in the highest areas of Val d'Aran (Naut Aran) and Pallars Sobirà (Vall d'Àneu). The site offers wide and open tracks, as well as forests. It is divided into three different areas, Baqueira, Beret and Bonaigua. The resort of Baqueira Beret, due to its orientation towards the Atlantic, has good snow cover all year round, with heavy depths of snow, which makes it an ideal place for skiing. In addition, it has a vertical drop of over 1,100 meters as well as an extensive ski area. All this makes it one of the best ski resorts in Catalonia. It is in particular the favorite resort of many amateurs, foremost among which is the Spanish royal family. Baqueira Beret, with 165 kilometers of slopes, is the second most extensive ski resort in Spain (the first being Aramón Formigal) and the most visited in Spain.
