Qui som ?Baro d'Evel - Le Parvis (Ibos)

The madness of Baro d'Evel blows across the Parvis

Burlesque, dance, theater, circus. Baro d'Evel plays with all genres, constantly coming back without ever weighing on the fundamental question: who are we?

A few months after its premiere at the Avignon Festival, "Qui Som?" by Baro d'Evel hit the Parvis stage on Friday and Saturday for a completely mind-blowing show. First, by the ingenuity of the process. It begins with a burlesque scene reminiscent of Charlie Chaplin or the Marx Brothers. Then dance joins the fray. Theater, too, in the vein of street theater, nourished by the horizons opened by the spirit and techniques of the circus. So many ways to come and go, like an obsession, to the fundamental question: who are we? Two hours of a show full of creative madness on stage, to question without weighing down, to play with festive images to reach a haunting depths. The audience finished the show standing, enthralled by this "Qui Som" that never stops carrying its message. With powerful images that stay in the eyes. The end of the show perhaps, but certainly not the end of the evening, as Baro d'Evel greets the audience in bandas style, inviting them to follow him for a set full of humor and music in the lobby leading to the performance hall. Superb!
