How would you describe Input’es?
We’re a punk rock band with waltz, ska, and some heavier stuff too. We don’t want to be pigeonholed into one specific style! There are serious lyrics, usually written by Simon, the singer and bassist. There are also silly lyrics, written by the rest of the band. It all started in August 2010, at the last Riffmania festival. I was already playing with Pierre Dubosq on guitar. We were asked to play, so we found a drummer and a bassist. And that’s how the band was born!
Did your second-place finish at the La Gespe talent competition give you a boost?
Yes, it was our first experience on a big stage. It also helped us get noticed. And then this second place earned us a gig at La Gespe, but we couldn't really take advantage of it because the band members had left Tarbes. Pierre, the guitarist, is in Bayonne, Tristan, the drummer, is in Reims, and Simon is in Toulouse.
In a short period of time, you played at the Riffmania festival, at La Gespe, and at Le Bikini.
Yes, Le Bikini was last week for a student night organized by the IUT. It was a great opportunity for us to play on that superb stage!
What are Input'es' plans?
To play as many concerts as possible. We're happy to be back at Le Celtic first of all. We really love the atmosphere, and it's the go-to bar in Tarbes. After that, we'd like to do a big tour this summer along the coast, starting in Angers and then heading back down.
