Natacha Carle-Bezsonoff

The book full of emotions by Natacha Carle-Bezsonoff

Under the name Natacha Karl, Natacha Carle-Bezsonoff has just published Bonjour Mademoiselle, a book that immerses the reader in the author's relationship with her psychiatrist, Dr. Michel Caruso. A book full of emotion that reaches a much wider audience than those who knew the psychiatrist, as evidenced by the comments left by the first readers. So many reasons to ask the Tarbes author our questions to find out a little more about her book.

What do you share in Bonjour Mademoiselle?

I wanted to say goodbye and especially thank you to Dr. El Mehdi Michel Caruso, who was my psychiatrist at the CMP. He meant a lot to me because he was a truly exceptional psychiatrist! I started writing the book before I met him, and he appears in the story just as I was changing psychiatrists. I then wrote day by day about what I felt with him, his humor, his way of being. And when he died suddenly, the sky fell for me because he was so supportive. I then continued writing in a second part, written in two voices, putting myself in his shoes, imagining what he would have said based on what I had experienced during those consultations.

Why this title?

He greeted me with "Bonjour Mademoiselle" at each consultation. To other patients, he called them "Grand Chef." He always had a very personal way of connecting.

Why put Lisa in your shoes in this book?

It's a reference to a text I had written before. It's also a little bit of distance that I'm putting into a book where I'm laying myself bare.

Is the brevity and concise style of your writing dictated by the subject?

I practice this very concise writing style a lot, whether through song lyrics, poetry, or haiku. I wanted to give this rhythm to the book because the essential doesn't always need a lot of words to express itself.
