The Ogres de Barback's delightful musical banquet

It was a lavish, banquet-like concert that Les Ogres de Barback offered to the particularly enthusiastic audience at La Gespe on Thursday evening. The feast had already begun in fine style with the appetizer of revisited gypsy jazz rhythms served up by the Tarbes-based band Fretswing. What followed was decidedly gargantuan. A stage like a cornucopia of music, composed by Les Ogres with their incredible array of instruments, from guitar to violin, musical saw to cello. A banquet with Les Ogres and their guests, including Guillaume Lopez and the Eyo’nlé brass band, which added even more brassy madness to the concert with its Beninese cultural influence. And all these musicians came together for a set of songs that blended moods and eras, featuring tracks from their latest album, Amours grises & colères rouges, released less than a year ago, alongside older songs like Accordéon Pour Les Cons, which took us back 20 years to their first album. A delightful offering, generously fueled by the sheer joy of being on stage and the audience's delight in sharing the moment. It takes a moment to digest, and we're already asking for more!
