The photo in the season program is shrouded in fog. The text describing "A Whole Story" by the Opéra Pagaï company is just as enigmatic. "In a building transformed by darkness, the company offers us a stationary journey into the heart of the theatrical microcosm," the text reads, adding, as if to further obscure the meaning, "The audience becomes the actors in a small-scale epic, unfolding in private, moving from incongruous situations to surprising encounters, in an intimate adventure with the people who make theater." In short, we know nothing, except that this ambiguity is part of the concept of the Bordeaux-based Opéra Pagaï, who have become masters of surprise. And they are already at the Parvis venue preparing for the performances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, for small groups of spectators each day. And we love surprises! It's the very essence of live performance, like a big, deliciously playful, and somewhat childlike, blue or pink cone. Besides, it prevents us from coming in with preconceived ideas and judgments about what we supposedly like or dislike. It's probably because we love surprises that this show, which arrives without a synopsis or photos, is already sold out for Friday. But there are still tickets available for Thursday and Saturday. And best of all, it's free!

Le Parvis has a surprise in store to kick off the season
Of the "A Whole Story" project by Opéra Pagaï, all we have is a text with cryptic sentences and some blurry photos. No doubt, this is a surprise that Le Parvis is offering us for the start of the new season.
