This cloister is the last vestige of the old church of Saint-Jean, most certainly created by the order of the Templars in the second half of the 12th century.
The latter became a public meeting room under the revolution, then prison, theater in the 19th century.
From the 1901 fire, all that remains is a superb 13th century portal and a basin that could be a font from the old church.
